Delosperma cooperi 'Moonstone' PBR - ice plant
APPEARANCE: Low-growing trailing South African succulent that forms a carpet of spreading stems. Very slender fleshy leaves which turn reddish in winter. Small shiny daisy flowers cover the plant in full bloom; peak flowering is in summer, and intermittently through the warmer months. 'Moonstone' flowers in pure white.
USE FOR : Rockeries, pots, landscaping, groundcover, xeriscaping. Coastal and outback gardens, rooftop gardens, green living walls.
CLIMATE : Hardy and drought tolerant once established. Cold hardy to -20C, reportedly.
PLANTING : Does not like wet feet or moist rich soils. Plant in light free-draining soil in sun for maximum colour and compact shape.
CARE: Water lightly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Once established, water only when soil is dry. Keep it in a sunny position for at least part of the day.
