Dichroa versicolor - evergreen hydrangea DESCRIPTION: Large soft-leaved evergreen subtropical shrub with hydrangea-like clusters of flowers in shades of blue. Flower colour varies with ph as with standard hydrangea species. USE IN: Feature plant, used for hedging and in containers. LOCATION: Prefers a full sun to part shade position with extra water during dry periods. Prefers a temperate sub-tropical climate. Plant in free draining soil rich in organic matter. Protect from frost. CARE: Mulch and water well until established. Prune after flowering to encourage new growth and flowering. Feed with a controlled release fertiliser twice yearly.
