Eucalyptus forrestiana - fuchsia gum
Many eucalypts look similar - this one is easy to identify in summer and autumn from the big geometric red and yellow flowers that hang down like chinese lanterns ready for a Christmas party in your back yard. They're followed by woody pods the same size and shape, so the party never stops!
Fuchsia gum is a compact size, resilient and adaptable in most soils, it tolerates frost and drought, lures in birdlife, and it's a great resource if you love flower arranging. Well worth a try
