Grevillea x banksii 'Big Foot'

APPEARANCE : Low wide mounding grevillea with very long rusty-red flowers, up to 25cm if not a full 12-inch-foot. Rich in nectar, they appear through the year.
USE FOR :  Feature planting, wildlife gardens, native gardens.
CLIMATE: Tolerates dry periods once established. Will tolerate a couple of degrees of frost and up to 40C heat, so try this one in more extreme climates to test its hardiness limits.
PLANTING: Plant in full sun for maximum flowering. Prefers free draining soil. Note : this is a grafted grevillea, unlike our other varieties. This means it will grow in a wider range of soil types. The tape securing the graft point is biodegradable and should dissolve by the time the graft is complete.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established. Prune after flowering to promote flowering, dense habit and control growth. A hard prune each 3-4 years will result in a fresh flush of flowers and foliage.  Feed with a slow release native fertiliser when buds form - grevilleas can be phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
