We've been asked a LOT for this variety so we're rapt to finally add it to our range of grevilleas. Billy is low and spreading, arching and layered, about three times as wide as tall - so give him some room!

The flowers are somewhere between magenta, hot pink, ad scarlet and according to our stock control manager "look like embroidery" when in bud.  You can enjoy them almost year-round, and when Billy takes a short break, there's the fine feathery foliage to enjoy too.

Note : Our Billy Bonkers are grafted grevilleas, unlike most of our other varieties. Grafting joins the main plant to another, more robust or adaptable, rootstock. This means it will grow in a wider range of soil types. Read more here

Grevillea nana abbreviata x ‘Sid Cadwell’ 'Billy Bonkers'

APPEARANCE : Wide spreading layered shrub with long fine feathery leaves and hot pink-red flowers at the end of the stems. Flowers appear throughout most of the year. Bred by Richard Tomkin of Changers Green nursery, and apparently named in honour of his dog.
USE FOR :  Feature planting.
CLIMATE: Tolerates dry periods and frost once established
PLANTING: Plant in full sun for maximum flowering. Prefers free draining soil. Note : this is a grafted grevillea, unlike our other varieties. This means it will grow in a wider range of soil types. The tape securing the graft point is biodegradable and should dissolve by the time the graft is complete.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established. Prune after flowering to promote flowering, dense habit and control growth. Regular pruning can also shape the plant to more of an 'umbrella' outline to enhance its arching tendency.  Feed with a slow release native fertiliser when buds form - grevilleas can be phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1m H x 1.5-3m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
