Description

Pandanus amaryllifolius - screwpine, pandan, edible pandanus

DESCRIPTION: Fast growing tropical small tree with a fountain clump of long strappy pleated leaves. Will stay in a clump if leaves are regularly harvested, or develop a short trunk if left to grow.
USE IN: Tropical feature planting, poolside, for the edible leaves.
PLANTING: Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden. Prefers moist fertile soil and regular watering. Mulch and water well regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
CARE: Low maintenance. Protect from frost; water regularly; watch for mealybug.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: Up to 4 m H x up to 2 m W unharvested.
YOUR PLANTS: These plants are tubestock plants, with young healthy roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80 mm x 42 mm wide.
