Pieris Mountain Fire - lily of the valley bush
You get three plants for the price of one with this beautiful bush : first, attractive evergreen foliage; second, vivid new leaf colour; and third, generous sprays of pure white bells. It's a real winner.
Loves rich loamy acid soils, so if you have poor dry soil or alkaline soil, plant it in a pot of good quality potting mix.

APPEARANCE :Evergreen shrub with umbrellas of long green leaves, bright rust-red when new; sprays of white nectar-rich bell-shaped flowers from late winter through spring.
USE FOR: Borders, feature shrubs, pots and containers. Looks good mixed with azaleas and camellias. Can be planted under deciduous trees.
CLIMATE : Frost hardy
PLANTING: Plant in part shade or dappled shade; will stand full sun if given enough water, though some leaf scorch may occur. Grows best in moist, humus rich and acid soil. Protect young plants from frost until they are established.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune as required after flowering to maintain shape, and fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in spring.
