Small dark glossy leaves, tiny white starry flowers that pack a huge scented punch for their size. The botanic name means "fragrant flower".

Evergreen, slowgrowing, dense habit makes an ideal hedge even in exposed locations. Frost hardy - plant this if you get some frost or snow. (Our osmanthus Heaven Sent is even more caold hardy!)

APPEARANCE : Native to Asia, this scented flowering shrub has small dark evergreen foliage and tiny white starry flowers with a strong perfume. A hybrid of the cold-hardy Chinese O. delavayi, and the Turkish O. decorus
USE FOR: Very versatile slow growing shrub. Suited to hedging and topiary, sensory gardens, feature planting.
CLIMATE : Frost hardy - while it is not as fragrant as O. fragrans, it is much more resilient to cold
PLANTING: Plant in almost any good well-drained soil and any aspect, though it prefers a little sun at some point in the day.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune as required after flowering to maintain shape, and fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in spring.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: Up to 4 m H x 2 m W.
