Salvia horminum, Salvia viridis - tricolour sage
DESCRIPTION: Medium-tall herbacous annual with large leaves and long spires of showy flowers (actually bracts) in shades of purple.
PLANTING: Sow spring at 25C, into trays or direct. When large enough to handle transplant to final position.
CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and continue to provide water especially during dry spells. Mulch plants to keep the shallow roots cool in summer. For an extra long flowering season, remove spent blooms and feed with liquid fertiliser.;
