Syzygium australe Aussie Compact - lilly pilly DESCRIPTION: Compact and tightly growing foliage that emerges with a reddish bronze tinge. USES: Excellent for hedging, shaping, screening and as a pot specimen. Honest and hardy this tree won’t let you down. Fast growing for instant results. Edible fruit. CARE: Tough and will tolerate light frosts. Mulch and keep watered until established, usually around 12 weeks, then water only as required. If leaf chew is noticed on your plants, Paropsides calypso is most likely the culprit. These can be easily controlled naturally using eco-neem or eco-oil. PLANTING: Tolerates most positions and conditions but would benefit with mulching and fertilising at the time of planting in well drained soil. Ideal in full sun HEIGHT: 3-5M but normally clipped to preferred height.
