Lilly pillys are loved for the bright colour of new leaves - and Orange Twist might be one of the brightest! New leaf growth is luminous orange, so if you ever needed motivation to clip your hedges this is it. The leaves are small and densely packed, making a safe haven for little birds to enjoy the coour too.
Syzygium australe 'Orange Twist' PBR - lilly pillyAPPEARANCE: Compact tightly growing foliage, small leaf size, that emerges vibrant orange and matures to light green. Upright habit good for hedging; white fluffy flowers in spring, followed by purple berries.
USES: Excellent for hedging, topiary, screening.
PLANTING: Tolerates most positions and conditions. Ideal in full sun. Will tolerate coastal conditions and drought once established. Protect from frost.
CARE: Mulch on planting and keep watered until established, usually around 12 weeks, then water only as required. Treat with eco-oil to keep chewing pests at bay. Clip to shape as needed, and to encourage new leaf growth.
