Robust native Australian banksia with green-cream brushes during spring and autumn. Suited to seaside gardens - where it will grow as a shrub - and well drained soil. Grows naturally on the coast from TAS to QLD, so very adaptable as to climate, and mature size will vary accordingly.

APPEARANCE : Big bold banksia with large rugged zigzag (serrated) leaves and bird-attracting pale green-cream flowers from summer to winter, peaking in autumn.ORIGIN :East and southern coast from southern QLD to TAS
USE FOR : Ideal used in coastal landscapes and street-scaping; timber is hard and attractively coloured.
PLANTING: Plant in a sunny position in the garden in well drained sandy soil. Drought tolerant once established. Tolerates wind and salt spray.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune lightly after flowering to shape. Feed with a slow release native fertiliser during spring - Banksia are phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: Up to 15m H x 4m W slowly, variable according to location.
