Local Hero is a lovely wax, warm rosy pink with deep maroon centres, bred by waxflower specialists Helix Australia for pot growing as well as in the garden. Each plant sold helps to raise money for servicemen and their families too - it's beautiful and beneficial.

Chamelaucium uncinatum 'Local Hero' - Geraldton Wax, waxflower

APPEARANCE : Late season native waxflower hybrid; pink blooms with deep red centres. Tall growing variety with slender needle-like foliage typical of waxflowers.
USE FOR : Native, seaside, and cottage gardens for flowering colour. Winter-spring garden borders. Excellent cut flower, trim a few stems and enjoy them indoors
LOCATION : Plant in free draining soil in a sunny to partly shaded position in the garden, best flowering is achieved in full sun. Suitable to exposed areas in most parts of Australia. Tolerates light frost and is drought resistant once established. Prefers low humidity climates.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune lightly after flowering to encourage new growth and dense flowering next season, avoid cutting into old wood. Fertilise yearly using a slow release native fertiliser.
HEIGHT & WIDTH :  Up to 2 m H x 1.5 m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80 mm x 42 mm wide. You can see an example in the image gallery
