Helichrysum amorginum Red Jewel
APPEARANCE : Mounding bushy plant with small neat silver-grey soft-touch foliage, and clusters of small deep red buds that open into pink long-lasting papery flowers in spring to early summer.
USE FOR : In frost-free gardens, a striking foliage plant with the benefit of bright flowers. In colder climates treat as a bedding annual or indoor-outdoor plant.
PLANTING: Full sun to light shade, free draining soil, tolerates dry conditions much better than wet ones. The parent species originates in Greece so it loves a Mediterranean climate.
CARE : Mulch on planting and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.Deadhead spent flowerstems as required.
