Easy to grow, heaps of flowers, love sunshine - you can see why day lilies are so popular!

Stella d'Oro is probably the best known variety of day lily for its clear golden colour, gentle fragrance, and compact size. Give it plenty of compost on planting and there's almost no maintenance once it's established. We give it Five Gold Stars

Hemerocallis fulva hybrid 'Stella D'Oro - day lily

APPEARANCE : Perennial clumping plant with lily-like golden yellow blooms on long stems, above strappy green foliage. Flowers don't last long individually (hence the common name of day lily), but the plant produces flowers over a long period of time, and multiple blooms per stem.
USE FOR : In groups as a mass display of flowering colour along borders and pathways. Suitable for large pots. As ground cover below shady trees; or in full sun.
CLIMATE: Frost-hardy once established
PLANTING: Day lilies like at least half a day of full sun - they will grow in shade but flowering will be reduced. Otherwise they are very adaptable as to soil type and pH levels.
CARE: Mulch and water well, especially during dry periods and in spring growth to ensure flowerbuds develop.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 30cm H x 30 cm W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
