Butterflies, birds and bees will love this pretty pink shrub, and you'll love its delicate scent and vibrant colour. Compact to 50cm, it flourishes best in a sheltered spot with rich soil. Flowers are bigger than Sweet Caprice, in looser clusters.

Rondeletia splendens 'Bright Star'

DESCRIPTION: Lowgrowing, widespreading rondeletia variety. 'Bright Star' produces loose clusters of dark pink flowers with yellow centres in warm climates. Releases a light scent in the evening.
USES: Ideal for hedges, massed plantings and containers. Attracts birds and butterflies to your garden.
PLANTING: Sunny to partly shaded position is ideal in the warmer parts of Australia. Shelter from strong winds, exposed sites and protect from frost. Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter and not over wet. A potting mix rich with peat moss or humus is ideal added at the time of planting. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
CARE: Clip back and fertilise using a slow release fertiliser yearly to encourage dense growth habit.
