Dry them and you can enjoy them indoors for weeks and weeks. This one is a lower-growing variety perfect for front-of-borders and deck pots.

Xerochrysum bracteatum Dwarf Mixed - strawflower

DESCRIPTION : Shorter-growing native flowering annual to 45cm, with satiny papery blooms in a range of rich sunset colours and pastels. Suited to hot dry sunny sites with good drainage.
SOWING : Sow in autumn right through Australia; plus spring in cooler regions, winter in tropical regions, at 20-25C. Sow on damp soil surface, cover very lightly, and press down gently. Sow direct in situ or into pots or trays.
PLANTING : Transplant seedlings when 5cm high, large enough to handle. Flowers 16 weeks from germination.
CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and continue to provide water especially during dry spells. For an extra long flowering season, remove spent blooms.
