Anthurium andreanum 'Purple Arc'

DESCRIPTION: A new mini variety of this popular tropical evergreen plant, dark green glossy foliage and slender purple spoon-shaped flowers (spathes, a form of leaf) with darker purple central flower spikes (spadix) through the year.
USE: Shaded beds in tropical gardens, indoors as a houseplant
LOCATION: Plant in sheltered position, avoid direct sunlight. Mulch and water regularly if planted outside until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Plant away from areas where children and pets play as the leaves contain a poisonous substance. Avoid contact with skin.
CARE: For maximum flowering period provide plenty of bright, filtered light. Protect from frost and keep moist during dry periods. Anthuriums thrive in humid conditions - mist regularly. Apply a slow release fertiliser during spring and a liquid based fertiliser every 2-4 weeks during the warmer months, take care to dilute your solution to half the recommended dose to avoid burn. For indoor plants - wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth if you notice them collecting dust, this will refresh the foliage to its usual glossy finish. Re-pot container plants at the beginning of spring.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 30 - 50 cm H x 30 - 50 cm W.
YOUR PLANTS: These plants are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide. May be supplied as 'plugs', slightly smaller than our usual tubestock but with a healthy root system ready for planting or potting on.
