Hardy, compact, low maintenance, graceful ornamental grass with warm dark burgundy-red foliage and creamy-pink fluffy foxtail plumes.

Lovely in containers, mass planted around larger shrubs, or along a driveway. Smaller and more burgundy-red than Red Riding Hood.

Pennisetum advena rubrum nana - dwarf purple fountain grass

APPEARANCE : Elegant, dwarf ornamental grass with burgundy-red foliage and cream-rose coloured plumes. Fast growing.
USE FOR : Rockeries and borders, erosion control, low maintenance gardens, containers.
CLIMATE : Can withstand humidity, high temperatures, and wind. Protect from frost.
PLANTING : Pennisetums prefer full sun to part shade in the garden.  Plant in a well drained soil, mulch and water well to establish.  Tolerates most soil conditions.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks; and in late autumn in borderline climate areas to protect roots. Hardy and low maintenance once established. Cut back in late winter to encourage new growth for spring.
HEIGHT & WIDTH : 0.5m H x 0.3m W.
