DESCRIPTION: Mounding herbaceous perennial with large maple-like leaves in varying shades of bronze-green to dark purple-brown, metallic purple underneath. Long slender stems topped with tiny bell-shaped creamy-white flowers (usually orange-pink, hence the common name) in mid-spring and summer. USE IN: Garden beds and borders, cottage and informal gardens, underplanting. LOCATION: Plant in dappled or part shade in moist well-drained soil. Totally frost-hardy to Russian levels. Will need more watering in full sun or warmer gardens during summer to keep those leaves lush. CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks, and again each spring. Cut back any dead or untidy foliage in spring to make room for new growth.
