In a mild climate, this lovely purple French lavender will flower almost all year round. Allwood has soft foliage and a compact growth habit making this a desirable variety for gardeners far and wide.
The original seeds were brought from England in the 1950s by an Adelaide gardener; please don't try that today as we can't come and bail you out of biosecurity jail... Better to visit the beautiful Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens instead and get some inspiration

Lavandula dentata 'Allwood' - Mt Lofty lavender

APPEARANCE : Scented flowering shrub, with serrated grey-green foliage and small slender pale-purple flowers from late winter to late autumn in mild climates.
USE IN: Perfect for cottage gardens and hedging. Suited to rockeries and pots. Right at home in cool dry climates. Cut flowers may be dried and used in flower arrangements or potpourri, and French lavender makes a great moth deterrent.
LOCATION: Plant in full sun and free-draining, sandy, preferably alkaline soils. Will tolerate lower light levels but flowering will be affected. Tolerates light frost once established.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly for the first 12 weeks until the plant establishes. Prune twice yearly (taking care to remove only 1/3 of the foliage while avoiding cutting into old wood) and fertilise yearly using a slow release fertiliser after flowering to maintain compact growth.
HEIGHT:  1m H x 1m W on average
YOUR PLANTS: These plants are tube-stock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
