Camellia sasanqua 'Paradise Hilda' DESCRIPTION: Masses of rich pink double flowers over a long flowering period. Hilda opens her buds in a teacup shape, very neat and rounded. Sasanqua Camellias have smaller leaves and more dense foliage than the Japonica varieties. They are more sun tolerant, better in warmer climates, and earlier flowering. Evergreen shrubs to 3m with beautiful displays of flowers in autumn and early winter. USES: Ideal for screens, hedges, espaliers and large pots. PLANTING: Sunny or partly shaded position with morning or afternoon sun. Shelter from strong winds and exposed sites. Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter. A potting mix rich with peat moss or humus is ideal added at the time of planting. CARE: Mulch and water well, prune after flowering and fertilise in Spring.
