Azalea purpurea 'Shiraz'
DESCRIPTION: This is Shiraz. Paypal is flagging "shiraz' as an alert word, rather than an ancient city with long historic culture, or indeed a delicious red wine. So we have changed the name so your order can go through, but we haven't changed the product. Burgundy foliage, single red blooms during spring.USE IN: Beautiful in groups as an accent plant. Ideal in tubs on patio settings. Hardy variety suited to landscape gardens.
LOCATION: Azaleas love dappled, morning and/or afternoon sun. A full sun location may be ok but not too exposed, hot or dry.
Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Continue to water on a regular basis for the first twelve months to ensure the plant becomes fully established. Prune after spring flowering to promote dense growth habit and flowering next season, fertilise using a slow release fertiliser such as Osmocote which is specially formulated for azaleas
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1.5 m 1.5 m.
YOUR PLANTS: These plants are tube-stock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
