Jasminum sambac Duchess
Jasminum sambac 'Duchess'
DESCRIPTION: Evergreen climber, more compact than the species form, with very fragrant single to semi-double pure white flowers in summer and autumn. Native to tropical south-east Asia where the flowers are used to make jasmine tea.
USE IN: Climbing over a trellis or frame. For cooler climates plant in pots in a sunny location through the warmer months, and shelter from cold wind and frost through winter.
LOCATION: Plant in free draining soil in a sunny spot for longest flowering season. Dig through well composted manure prior to planting for best results.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Continue to provide regular water during the growing season and less through winter. Prune after flowering to promote dense growth habit and flowering next year; fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in spring and regular applications of liquid fertiliser such as eco-seaweed through summer. Protect from frost.
HEIGHT: 1-2m H
YOUR PLANTS: These are tube-stock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80 mm x 42 mm wide.
