Musk Mallow - seed
Musk mallows are easy-to-grow perennials, look like petite hollyhocks, and pollinators love them - and you'll love them too. They love sunshine, put up with dry conditions once established, and pump out those pure white saucer flowers each year in the warm months. This award-winning variety is super cold hardy too, so it's worth a try in outback or altitude gardens.
Malva moschata alba 'White Musk'- musk mallow
APPEARANCE : Tall bushy perennial plant, with large saucer-shaped pure white flowers. RHS Award of Garden Merit
USE FOR : Cottage gardens, flowering borders
PLANTING: Sow seeds in Summer-Autumn at 18-20C directly into final position or into seed trays/pots. Cover with a thin layer of soil and keep moist. Thin plants once they develop 2-4 leaves and are easily handled. Plant in any free draining soil in a sunny sheltered location for best flowering. Preparing garden beds with well composted manure will give the best results. Very cold hardy.
CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and continue to provide water especially during dry spells. Mulch plants to keep the shallow roots cool in summer. May need staking in more open locations. For an extra long flowering season, remove spent blooms and feed with liquid fertiliser.
