Papaver orientale - Oriental poppy mix

DESCRIPTION: Bushy perennial with big tissue-paper flowers in shades of orange, red and coral. Low maintenance and very drought tolerant once mature.
PLANTING: Sow seeds in Spring in cool climates, Spring and Autumn in warmer ones. Sow directly into final position or in seed trays/pots, and keep moist. Just cover the seeds with soil. Thin plants once they develop 2-4 leaves and are easily handled. Plant in free draining soil in a sunny location for best flowering. If planted early they will flower in the same year.
CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and continue to provide water especially during dry spells. Mulch plants to keep the shallow roots cool in summer. For an extra long flowering season, remove spent blooms and feed with liquid fertiliser
