Papaver orientale - Oriental poppy mix
DESCRIPTION: Bushy perennial with big tissue-paper flowers in shades of orange, red and coral. Low maintenance and very drought tolerant once mature.SOWING : Sow direct in spring in cool climates, spring and autumn in warmer ones. Lightly cover seed with a thin layer of soil. Germinates in 10-14 days
PLANTING: Thin any congested seedlings once they are easily handled, and replant. Plant in free draining soil in a sunny location for best flowering. If planted early they will flower in the same year - about 20 weeks after germination.
CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and continue to provide water especially during dry spells. Mulch plants to keep the shallow roots cool in summer. For an extra long flowering season, remove spent blooms and feed with liquid fertiliser
