Can a plant be dramatic AND perky? If it can, then Black Love® is it. A neat small-scale anthurium with smooth teardrop shaped flowers in as-close-to-black as Mother Nature (and clever plant breeders) can create, this cute little evergreen will grow as happily on a bedside table or bathroom window as in your tropical shade border, if you're lucky enough to have one of those.
DESCRIPTION: A tropical plant with decorative heart-shaped foliage and dramatic almost-black glossy spathes/flowers intermittently through the year. The flowers are very longlasting in water. USE IN: The Love® series is smaller in scale than other anthuriums making them ideal indoor plants as well as for tropical shade gardens. PLANTING: Plant in sheltered position, avoid direct sunlight. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Protect from frost and keep moist during dry periods. Plant away from areas where children and pets play as the leaves contain a poisonous substance. Avoid contact with skin. CARE: For maximum flowering period provide plenty of bright, filtered light. Protect from frost and keep moist during dry periods. Anthuriums thrive in humid conditions. Apply a slow release fertiliser during spring and a liquid based fertiliser every 2-4 weeks during the warmer months, take care to dilute your solution to half the recommended dose to avoid burn. For indoor plants - wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth if you notice them collecting dust, this will refresh the foliage to its usual glossy finish. Re-pot container plants at the beginning of spring. HEIGHT & WIDTH: 40-60 cm H x 40 cm W. YOUR PLANTS: These plants are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide. May be supplied as 'plugs', slightly smaller than our usual tubestock but with a healthy root system ready for planting or potting on.
