A very attractive NEW banksia, bold in flower (which is almost all year round) and compact enough to fit into small gardens. The flowers are unusually coloured for a health banksia, starting out as clusters of white candles that open top-down in a graded rainbow of red, orange, and yellow. Fully open the flowers are a honey gold colour inside and red on the outside.
Banksia ericifolia 'Bronzed Aussie' PBR - heath banksia
APPEARANCE : Native shrub with clusters of white upright candles that open to cylindrical flowers in red, white & yellow. Flowers almost all year round. The foliage is fine, heather-like, hence its common name, and slightly weeping; and flushed bronzed in colour.USES: This adaptable Banksia forms an excellent screen plant and is able to tolerate frost and salt spray. Birds adore these plants and kept busy for ages. Seed pods are decorative, as are the flowers.
PLANTING: Plant in a well drained sandy to sandy loam soil, neutral to acid pH.
CARE:Feed with a slow release native fertiliser during spring - Banksia ericifolia is phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 2m H x 2m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide
