Camellia sasanqua 'Dazzler'

APPEARANCE : Large semi-double to double rosy-red flower with golden centre; neat small dark leaves. Sasanqua Camellias have smaller leaves and more dense foliage than the Japonica varieties. They are more sun tolerant, better in warmer climates, and earlier flowering. Evergreen fast growing shrubs to 3m with beautiful displays of flowers in autumn and early winter.
USES: Ideal for screens, flowering hedges, espaliers and large pots.
PLANTING: Sunny or partly shaded position with morning or afternoon sun. Shelter from strong winds and exposed sites. Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter. A potting mix rich with peat moss or humus is ideal added at the time of planting.
CARE: Mulch and water well, prune after flowering and fertilise in Spring. Plant in a soil which is medium to acidic. Avoid lime.
