Clove pinks have been prized for centuries for their sweet-spicy scent and pretty little pink flowers. Did you know we get the word for the colour pink from the plant? It refers to the zigzag edges of the petals. Waithman Beauty has rich dark magenta-maroon petals marked with pale pink-white, very striking.

Dianthus 'Waithman Beauty' - pink

APPEARANCE :  Annual, biennial, short-lived perennial depending on how it like the conditions. Grey-green stems, distinctive curled slender leaves, flat open flowers with a sweet-spicy clove scent. Waltham's Beauty has deep magenta-pink petals, patterned with white-pale pink on the edges and centre.
USE FOR : Summer bedding, pots and containers, front of mixed beds.
PLANTING : Plant in full sun to part shade. Likes a loamy sandy free-draining neutral soil for best results. Completely frost-hardy, and drought tolerant once mature.
CARE:  Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Regular feeding promotes healthy growth; deadhead any spent flowers you haven't cut to enjoy indoors. Cut all stems back to half in autumn after flowering has finished, and add some fertiliser for a second round of blooms.
HEIGHT & WIDTH:  35 cm H x 30 cm W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
