Red hydrangeas are very unusual and this one is extra compact and bushy, with lots of smaller flower clusters that hold their colour in almost any soil type. Best of all, Speedy Red will give you the tropical look of ixora and carphalea even if your garden gets frost.

Hydrangea macrophylla Tea Time™ 'Speedy Red'
APPEARANCE : Dwarf deciduous shrub with big soft light green leaves and big red flower clusters in spring that open from yellow buds, giving a striking to-tone effect on new flowers. Compact bushy plant. Colour is consistent regardless of the soil pH, and deepens as the flowers open and mature.USE FOR : Ideal for cottage gardens, woodland style gardens, mixed beds, large containers.
PLANTING : Hydrangeas prefer a partly shaded position in the garden, rich soil, and plenty of water during dry periods.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established. Apply a slow release fertiliser early spring. Protect from harsh sunlight. Macrophyllas flower on old wood so site them carefully to give them space to grow. Prune them by deadheading spent flowers back to a leaf joint.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1.2m H x 1.2m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
