Very pretty aromatic palest pink lavender, as attractive to butterflies and bees as it is to us. Hardier variety than the French and Italian kinds, ideal for colder regions. Usually available June-January

Lavandula angustifolia Rosea' - English lavender
APPEARANCE : Aromatic flowering shrub with fine grey-green foliage in winter, turning greener in summer; and very pale pink flowers during spring and early summer.
USE FOR : Perfect for cottage gardens and hedging. Suited to rockeries and pots. Right at home in cool dry climates. This variety is much hardier in cold temperatures than the Italian or French lavender.
PLANTING : Plant in a sunny, northern facing location in full sun. Will tolerate lower light levels but flowering will be affected.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly for the first 12 weeks until the plant establishes. Prune twice yearly (taking care to remove only 1/3 of the foliage while avoiding cutting into old wood) and fertilise yearly using a slow release fertiliser after flowering maintain compact growth. Avoid wet feet. Tolerates frost once established, if drainage is good.
