Syzygium wilsonii- powderpuff lilly pilly

APPEARANCE: Bushy QLD native, growing to a shrub or tree. Highly ornamental with large red-bronze new leaves, large pink-red pompom flowers in summer, followed by pure white edible (when cooked) bushtucker fruit in autumn. One of the parents of Cascade.
USE IN: Hedging, screening, feature planting, and in a big pot.
LOCATION:  Prefers sheltered areas out of all-day hot sun and heavy winds. It grows as a somewhat open leggy plant in rainforest understorey but in brighter garden situations and with regular watering and pruning it is a dense bushy plant with abundant flowers..
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune regularly to encourage bushiness and improve the shape. It should come through a light overnight frost but protect it from extended periods of colder weather. Feed it with all-purpose fertiliser to encourage health and flowering.
HEIGHT & WIDTH:  5 m H x 4 m W in shade, shorter in bright sunny open gardens; can be hard pruned to 2m.
YOUR PLANTS: These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide
