Tight neat mounds of silvery fragrant foliage topped by two-colour flowers in dark purple and mauve. Italian lavenders have the long decorative "ear tufts" and large flowerheads for showy displays. This one is a compact size, perfect for pots and sunny spots.

Description

Lavandula stoechas 'Silver Posie Purple' - Italian lavender

APPEARANCE : Fragrant shrub, woody at the base, with narrow grey foliage and deep purple flowers with long mauve tufts in spring-summer, and through the year in warmer climates.
USE FOR : Perfect for cottage gardens and hedging. Suited to rockeries and pots. Right at home in cool dry climates. Cut flowers may be dried and used in flower arrangements or potpourri.
CLIMATE : Heat, humidity, drought, and cold tolerant.
PLANTING : Plant in full sun and free-draining soil. Avoid wet feet. Will tolerate lower light levels but flowering will be affected.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly for the first 12 weeks until the plant establishes. Prune twice yearly (taking care to remove only 1/3 of the foliage while avoiding cutting into old wood) and fertilise yearly using a slow release fertiliser after flowering maintain compact growth.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH : 50cm H x 50cm W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
