Aubrieta x cultorummix 'Royal Series' - aubretia, rock cress

DESCRIPTION: Flowering evergreen perennial groundcover, forms a low rounded mat of leaves covered with small open purple flowers. RHS Award of Garden Merit.
PLANTING: Sow seeds into trays or pots in early spring; press lightly into the soil surface and water. Add a slow release fertiliser to the soil prior to planting. Plant in light free draining soil in a full sun to partly shaded location.
CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and continue to provide water especially during dry spells. Mulch plants to keep the shallow roots cool in summer. For an extra long flowering season, remove spent blooms and feed with liquid fertiliser. Trim and apply a slow release fertiliser at the end of the flowering season to encourage re-growth.
