Salvias are great plants for Aussie gardens; this one loves heat and humidity and sunshine. Give it a clip over after flowering and it often bounces back to bloom again in glowing shocking pink to strawberry red.

Salvia microphylla 'Margaret Arnold'

APPEARANCE : Medium sized perennial from Mexico, open and airy habit, small leavs, and abundant small deep-pink flowers in late summer and autumn.
USE FOR : Cottage style gardens, mixed beds and borders, wildlife gardens, kitchen gardens.
PLANTING : Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden, in rich soil. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Water weekly in dry climates.
CARE : Clip over after flowering, to encourage fresh growth and a perhaps a repeat flowering. Cut it hard back in early spring. Fertilise in spring using a slow release fertiliser, give an extra boost during the summer heat using eco-seaweed. Drought and frost tolerant once established.
HEIGHT & WIDTH :  1 - 1.5 m H x 1 - 1.5 m W.
