This beautiful Japanese hydrangea won the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show Plant of the Year award in 2014 and it's easy to see why.

Apart from those stunning watercolour good looks, the foliage has a rich burgundy tint, deeper in cold weather, for multiple seasons of interest. Petite enough for patio pots too!

Hydrangea macrophylla 'Miss Saori™' PBR

APPEARANCE :  Large-leaved compact deciduous shrub with large bi-colour flower heads (12-15cm across) and soft dark green leaves. Flower petals are elegantly shaped, arranged in layers, and shade from dark pink on the outer edge to almost white closest to the stem. Foliage is tinted burgundy, darkening in Autumn.
USE FOR : Ideal for cottage gardens, woodland style gardens, mixed beds, large containers.
PLANTING : Hydrangeas prefer a partly shaded position in the garden, rich soil, and plenty of water during dry periods or if planted in full sun. Very cold hardy.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established and regularly after that - hydrangeas are thirsty. Apply a slow release fertiliser early spring. Protect from harsh sunlight. Macrophyllas flower on old wood so site them carefully to give them space to grow. Prune them by deadheading spent flowers back to a leaf joint.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 80-100cm H x 80-100cm W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
