Hydrangea macrophylla 'President R Touchard

DESCRIPTION:  Large leaved deciduous shrub with large rounded flower heads and soft light green leaves. Petal colour is usually warm purple but may vary slightly according to soil pH. As a general rule acid soil (pH 5 or below) produces blue flowers and neutral to alkaline (pH 6-7), produces mauve, pink through to red.
PLANTING: Ideal for cottage gardens, woodland style gardens, mixed beds, large containers.
LOCATION: Hydrangeas prefer a partly shaded position in the garden, rich soil, and plenty of water during dry periods. Very cold hardy.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established. Apply a slow release fertiliser early spring. Protect from harsh sunlight. Macrophyllas flower on old wood so site them carefully to give them space to grow. Prune them by deadheading spent flowers back to a leaf joint.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1.2m H x 1.2m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These are tubestock plants with young healthy roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80 mm x 42 mm wide.
